As crazy as it sounds, I’ve had some of the same books in my room since I was eight.
This is my bookshelf. It consists of who-know-how-many books and three floating shelves that threaten to topple off the wall. It floats above my desk and I’m sometimes low key terrified that a stack of books will fall on my head.
I tend to keep it fairly clean, except it’s like torture when you have to dust behind the shelves. So that why we don’t.
On the first shelf, we have this wonderful stack of books. I wasn’t gonna do rainbow order, but I put my standalone books in colour order.
We have Losing Brave by Bailee Madison and Stefne Miller, Olivia Twist by Lorie Landon, The Lost Girl of Astor Street by Stephanie Morrill, and Found by Margaret Peterson Haddix. I got the first three at a Christian bookstore and the last one at a 2nd hand bookstore.
Beside the stack we have:
- The Evaporation of Sofi Snow and Reclaiming Shilo Snow, both by Mary Weber
- Unblemished, Unraveling, and Unbreakable, all by Sara Ella
- Thunder, Lighting, Storm, all by Bonnie S. Calhoun
We then see the Lunar Chronicles: Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, Winter, Stars Above, and Fairest, all by Marissa Meyer. And my new favourite series: Divergent, Insurgent, and Allegiant by Veronica Roth.
And this is my other stand-alone stack. In it, we have, The Princess Spy by Melanie Dickerson, Toward a Secret Sky by Heather Maclean, A Daring Sacrifice, and Kiki Strike; The Empress’s Tomb by Kirsten Miller.
On the next shelf, we have my very tattered collection of old hardcover Nancy Drews and my newer stack of Nancy Drew Diaries all by Carolyn Keene.
Fun Fact: I started reading the hardcover Nancy Drew’s in Grade 1. I even finished one in two days.
This is my old classic shelf. We have all seven books from The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis. Above it is the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien. I still need to finish the Lord of the Rings.
On the very top shelf, I have my American Girl books and some Hardy Boys. As I’m writing this, I noticed that someone took some of the Hardy Boys. I’m coming after you book thief!
Beside the stolen books I have an extensive Baby-Sitter’s Club collection as well as the comics. I too noticed that one of my comics has been misplaced. Probably by the book thief.
And just when you thought I was done, I’m not. This bookshelf thingy doubles as my bedside table. Where else am I supposed to stack the books to read at night?
In one cubical I have the books:
- Dauntless, Chivalrous, and Courageous, all by Dina L. Sleiman
- Invasion Alienation, and Domination, a trilogy by Jon S. Lewis
- The Homelanders, which is actually four books in one, by Andrew Klavan
- Mindwar, Hostage Run, and Game Over, also by Andrew Klavan
In the cubical beside, I have all my library books. The Library is practically my 2nd home and it really helps that we live awfully close to it. I’m currently reading, I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore.
And that is my bookshelves! This post was requested by Mya, so go check out her blog Life Behind a Camera.
I hope you have an awesome December!
