A few short weeks ago I was trolling through the lovely Ash Ronnel’s blog and found her collaboration blog tour sign-ups. Naturally, I offered my meager talents and signed up.
Did I have more important things to worry about? Yes and no. Did I have a mountainous pile of writing? Of course. Was I stressing because there wasn’t enough hours in a day to get of everything done? Yup. Yet I signed up for the fabulous Diamond Village Blog Tour.
Then all thought of the tour passed out of my mind swept away by much less important thoughts. And then suddenly I was contacted for the tour and I had no idea what to do. Even now I’m writing the post at an inhumane hour. (Sorry Merie)
So I decided to interview one of the bloggers. Now without further ado, I present El!
- Who is your favourite fictional character?
This is always such a hard question for me! I hate to start the interview on a rubbish answer but I just don’t know! Maybe Catherine from heartless? She just came to mind…
- How did you come up with the idea of the Diamond Village?
TDV is Aditi’s crazy creation – she approached me & asked if I wanted to be a part of it & of course I said yes because it sounded awesome! From then, we’ve been on lots of calls & google docs to try and put the whole thing together!
- Which character in the village are you?
I write for Clem, our village healer. She’s obsessed with nature, stars, gems- any kind of magical, mystical thing really! You can expect all the bookish things from her & also a whole cast of adorable woodland animals (Which I am so excited to write about!)
- What do you love the most about that person?
100% the furry animals No, Clem is just adorable and I love how she has time to help everyone & everything.
- What type of music do you enjoy listening to?
I’m kinda all over the place I’m gonna go with indie butttttt that’s kinda broad
- Do you have any pets at home?
Yes! I actually have an adorable black cockapoo called Diamond (A complete coincidence!) who loves distracting me & standing on all my homework with a complete disregard to whether I’m finished or not 🙂
- How would you describe your writing style?
For my blogging, I like to write with humour in mind – I always try to make my posts funny because it’s what I love reading in other people’s. For creative writing I’m quite a description heavy writer & I like to write in quite an abstract way (Sorry that made like zero sense!) I’ve never been good at dialogue or moving the story along so I usually enjoy descriptive scenes the most.
- What sort of hobbies do you partake in?
Reading & blogging (obviously!) I play the piano (but don’t practice enough 🤦♀️) and sing with some of my friends but apart from that….nothing else I can think of.
- Name your top three favourite authors
I’m gonna name 4 because I’m such a rule breaker: Marissa Meyer, Laini Taylor (this is maybe cheating because I’ve only read the strange the dreamer duology but I love it so much!), Juno Dawson & Sarah Crossan – those are just the first couple that came to mind but I normally don’t read for authors (Instead, I just read books I wanna read, instead of paying attention to authors I’ve read before)
- If you had one wish, what would you wish for?
I think I just have to wish for world peace or to end world hunger. But if you want something personal then it would have to be for me to just be happy in the future.
That is all the questions I had for El. If this is the first time hearing about the lovely blog, be sure to check out all previous posts. Their sites will be stated on the tour schedule beneath.
I hope everyone has a great day further!
